“Afraid to Speak” | Sarah Brinson
The Challenge: Sarah Brinson, a dance industry legend renowned for her sought-after masterclasses across North America, embarked on a new venture: Motivational Comedy. In her show, “Afraid to Speak,” Sarah shares her journey from a mute child to a performer who conquered adversity through arts and humor. The challenge was to create a brand that captures Sarah’s sparkling personality and her unique journey.
Our Approach: We decided to create a personal and colorful brand that truly represents Sarah. We wanted the brand to be as dynamic and versatile as Sarah herself, reflecting her journey and her vibrant personality.
Execution: We executed this vision through various elements:
Doodled Charm: We incorporated doodles throughout the branding—handwritten cheeky phrases and whimsical illustrations that add a playful and personal touch.
Photography: We used poppy, goofy, emotional, and honest photographs that capture the essence of Sarah’s personality and her show.
Palette: We chose a palette where soft pastels meet modern black accents, creating a balance between softness and boldness.
Typography: We used eye-grabbing headlines that are fun, flexible, and full of personality.
Logo: We created a high-contrast monogram mark combined with a dynamic logotype.
Design: We used curves and circles in our designs to echo the sinuousness of our logo.
Impact: The result was a brand that not only captures Sarah’s personality but also tells her story. It resonated with her audience and helped her connect with them on a deeper level.
Overcoming Obstacles: The main obstacle was to create a brand that is as dynamic and versatile as Sarah. We overcame this by carefully choosing each element of the brand, from the palette to the typography, ensuring that each element not only represents Sarah but also works harmoniously together to tell her story.
